My obsession with Nick Knight started in 2009 when he first collaborated with Gareth Pugh. Pugh was a well known english designer from london and showcased his fashion shows in Paris and in 2009 Pugh decided to show his collection on a on set screen using film. The film created by knight is very out going and what most people would think it be referenced to lady gaga. The film showcased Pugh’s work as a motif of decadence, not only just seeing the cloths but also the movement and shapes the cloths could create. Pugh quoted on style.com ” its a time of more creativity and change “, which what he had done.

From Dazed & Confused’s October issue featuring Nick Knight’s Gareth Pugh cover story comes SHOWstudio’s latest film project.
Nick Knight has also done a vast amount of work collaborating with a lot of designers artist singers such as lady gaga which he created short films featuring lady gaga her self for her monster ball interludes.
Nick knight carry’s out a lot of physical performances in his works to explore more of whats present for example the model engaging with the camera more physically, and just trying to explore different ways of being creative in a fashion shoot rather then a point an shot. One of my favorite shoots Nick knight had done was with Naomi Campbell for Yohji Yamomoto in 1986. Yohgi did his take on the original Christian Dior and he had done these two fantastic inspired coats that came in green and red. Naomi put one of the coats on and he made her do a performance on a beautiful piece of perspex laid across the floor and took a series of shots of her walking up and down.
